Amazon Instant Video

Amazon Instant video app allows Amazon prime members to watch numerous films and TV shows from the comfort of their mobile device, this enables users to utilise the service whilst in the go, providing they have a wifi/ 4G connection. A flaw of the Amazon Instant video app is an inability to subscribe to Prime or download content directly from the application itself.

TV Tag

TV Tag (formerly GetGlue) was an application whereby users could 'check in' and share the TV shows/ movies they were watching in real time. The app gave users a feed of TV moments which they could tag with comments, doodles and memes and share them on social media. As well as being a social app TvTag also acted as a hub for information about TV shows, users could read up on general facts, view information about their favourite cast members and scroll through real time trending searches. This was particularly useful for sports fans as the app provided play by play moments, live statistics and real time information. Due to the pressures and popularity of other TV applications TV Tag closed down at the beginning of 2014.

Miso

Miso uses a second screen app to enhance the TV viewing experience. The app has dubbed itself as 'the Fore square of TV'. It enables users to check-in to television shows/ movies in order to earn points. Other features include commenting and rating shows, and a "slideshow" option, enabling fans to create supplementary second screen content based around a programme.

TV Guide

The TV guide application allows users to see whats shows are on from the comfort of their smart phone, allowing users to plan their optimum TV viewing schedule prior to interacting with their TV menu. The application has a legible, well organised grid interface which is responsive for total user satisfaction. Sky users can particularly benefit from this interface as it offers a remote record function allowing users to record shows from their mobile device. The application also links with users calendar app so they can easily plan their TV schedule in with their everyday life.
Yamgo

Yamgo is an application whereby users can watch live TV directly from their mobile phone or tablet. The app is categorised based on different user interests rather then channel allowing users to browse whats on based on their personal interests.
PlayUp

Playup is a social, interactive application based around sports.
