Utilising 'Trends'
We wanted to ensure our 'Hub' concept would offer a personalised experience for all users, which would largely be done through live TV recommendations based on the users TV viewing and recording history. Our research informed us that both Baby Boomers and Millennials often discuss TV programmes with their friends/family, which means that they are likely to be interested in the same programme kind. We though that it might be useful to have a 'trending' section within the interface so that users could see what programmes are most popular, perhaps both in real-time and on demand. To ensure this feature continued to enrich the personalisation of the 'Hub' we would show the trends based on the users demographic - meaning that we can target both the Baby Boomers and the Millennial users independently.
